a lot, but it's also clear sometimes one team is the better team on the whole of the season but might lose the head to head (and I agree, this has happened to both BYU and Utah when playing each other in the last, say, 20 years).
And in a case like Vandy-Bama, everyone in the world knows that Alabama is the better team even though they lost. But the scoreboard still counts for something.
I think it's a little tougher with BYU and Utah because we're much closer in level than Vandy and Alabama over the last 20 or so years. The gulf between Vandy and Bama is huge and obvious. For BYU and Utah, we're way closer to each other and have been for the last 20-25 years. That said, obviously, BYU clearly looks like the better team this year by a huge margin, no question.
