Correct. It also helped that we had "10 win" seasons leading up to
1984 from 1979 to 1983 (exception being 1982 of course).
That was a lot of "winning" done before we got to 1984. Wins over Texas A & M, SMU & Washington State helped build the brand along with all the passing records being broken by Wilson, McMahon & Young.
The groundwork had been laid for 1984 to happen.
