Yes, the schedule was weak, but the level of play from BYU was not, and BYU had the Nation watching at a time when we all needed a welcome distraction. Wilson, Tyler Alleiger, Brady Christensen, and the entire BYU program was able to show outsiders that BYU draws a national audience and our fan base is everywhere. I believe it helped BYU get the Big 12 schools on board with the style of play, Fan support, and the type of program BYU runs. It cleared to a lot of misconceptions and really showed that BYU could survive and play a full schedule, during the most difficult of travel restrictions and circumstances, when even the P5 conferences were canceling or postponing. It showed a level of organizing, consistency, and leadership that made BYU even more attractive when the Big 12 could have gone either way and ended up like the Pac 2.
