Sure, but drinking water, exercising, praying, spending time with my kids, etc.
all have significant upsides. It's the very rare case where a universally healthy thing can develop into an addictive behavior.

On the flipside, gambling itself has no real upside. It's literally designed to make money for the house and for no one else. And it disproportionately takes advantage of the poor and those who are predisposed toward gambling addiction.

Pushing gambling sites as some innocuous way to better enjoy a game is just a cover for corporate bookies to rope in as many future addicts as possible.

It's despicable and loathsome. And I hate how much it has infiltrated practically every aspect of sports.
