I've been watching the Phils-Mets and now Yankees-Royals so I didn't see him pitch. Don't know if he was showing a lack of control, but his pitch count was not abnormally high and it was only 2 runs at the time they pulled him. That's an extremely short leash for a guy with Cease's resume this season.
Makes me think his speed and spin weren't quite at maximum so they pulled him for the potential game 5.
