Wave action is in addition to the storm surge depth. I saw houses destroyed and completely wiped away after Ike and floated off their foundations after Sandy and Isaac. This guy in Breezy Point NY stayed in his two story house during Sandy. He told me “I saw that house start floating away, then it hit that house and got it moving. That house hit the next house…”. Crazy that he survived to tell me about it.
