...BYU isn't alone in having large amount of player turnover, a significant number of untested young players, etc. When you weigh BYU vs the rest of the Big12 for things like returning production, avg age of the team, returning minutes etc we're actually in pretty good shape and in the top 25%tile in the conference.
As for KY getting acclimated to coaching in college vs the pros, I think he will be fine. In some respects, basketball is basketball and he has experience working in the G League which can be chaotic and is working with a similar age group but a much faster game. I think he'll find the pace in college to be a little slower by comparison and I'm sure he will be able to keep up. If anything I think he'll increase the tempo we play at which can be to our advantage and put pressure on opposing defenses. I think the concern some have posted or commented about college has different time outs than the pros or one is 20 min halves vs 12 min quarters and how in the world will he ever be able to figure that out let alone how to substitute players in and out in a 20 min half is over-blown.
