I don't think you do have to get it perfectly right. If you build a solid team,
you can succeed with prior "busts" like Geno Smith, Sam Darnold, or even QBs who were seen as average like Matthew Stafford and Jared Goff.
New Orleans has found a way to win with Derek Carr.
San Francisco is winning with a lesser physical talent like Brock Purdy.
Jalen Hurts is not an amazing QB, but Philly is winning plenty of games with him.
Baker Mayfield washed out of Cleveland and Carolina. Then spent a year as QB2 in LA. Now he's thriving in Tampa Bay.
It's teams that try to put it all on the QB that typically fail the most, ala the Jets. Do you think any of those guys above would want any part of playing for the Jets?
