Middle Earth etc. on a per capita basis than other groups.
Here's my (very hastily composed) theory: keeping everything else constant between Mormons and everyone else as a control group, if you consider media/literature that has a lot of sex and nudity then the Mormon group (where many active members avoid that stuff) will have an incrementally higher number of people becoming fans of other types of content. Sure, there's probably plenty of stuff in the fantasy genre that has that content, but there seem to be a lot of fantasy series that don't (at least to me, a peripheral fantasy genre partaker at most). So more in our group find safety in superhero stuff, some fantasy stuff, Disney stuff, and other safer content.
What do you think? Do we have a HIGHER connection with fantasy stuff than would be explained by this? And if so, why?
