of the conference and wanting there to be as many teams ranked and for those teams to be ranked as high as possible (as long as none of those teams are named Utah).

Of course, conference games are a bit of a zero-sum game as a loss by one team is a win by another. And the fact that we play Baylor this year and not Iowa St. would lead to the argument that we want the teams we have played to beat the teams we don't play as it "improves" our strength of schedule.
