Yeah it really depends
We ended up with multiple unexpected surgeries even though my family was pretty healthy. I’m sure if I had a few calm years to build up my HSA it would have been different, but it didn’t really work out that way for me.

I guess that is my point. You just never know how it will work out. This year I ended up hospitalized for nearly a week for a very random issue (rare autoimmune thing). Fortunately. my wife’s PPO plan is excellent and it was never a stress but it would have been a very different story on my old high deductible plan.
