back, or they know their season is over anyways.
Scenario one is why Flacco is starting. You know what you’re going to get, and the Colts think they can win with it (or, at least, they know that Flacco won’t lose you the game).
Huntley is in the second group. The Dolphins are dead, and they know it. Huntley is a guy who’s shown he can win some games in the NFL and he’s free to sign. For the Dolphins, there’s no reason to give up anything for Zach when they can get someone else for free.
Zach isn’t a known commodity, so you can’t bring him in to save your season if you want to compete. And it’s not worth giving up a piece to get Zach when your season is over anyways. It’s like putting a paint job on a totaled car.
Miami would be a good spot for Zach because they’re probably looking for a long term answer at QB whose name isn’t Tua. If the Dolphins liked Zach, it might make sense to give up something and let him run with it. If he’s good, great. If he’s not, your season is over anyways, so who cares? But then again, Huntley is free, and your season is over anyways. No reason to give anything up, I guess?
