Top seeds are 3-5 since the best of 3 wildcard was instituted. Hardly a
significant sample size. Considering the crapshoot nature of the playoffs seems pretty close to the 50% I would expect.
Just so happens the Braves and Dodgers have gotten the short end, but there's no logical reason to suggest that will likely happen again this year. It might, but it just as easily might not.
