It’s about excluding the Big 12 and ACC, not charity in giving them an extra spot. The Big 12 wants the SEC to go to 9 conference games, and then they want to schedule OOC games against each other. But they are worried that just increases the amount of losses their team has, so instead they want to sure up their AQ spots as much as possible.

This is bad. The Big 12 should push against it.
