The Chiefs opponents are a combined 7-9. And it may be worse than that.

The News:

The Chiefs opponents’ record is a combined 7-9. 7-9 teams in the NFL are not good. And for the Chiefs, it might actually be worse than that. Their four games so far:

The Ravens are starting to figure it out. Not so much when they played the Chiefs (the next game, the Ravens lost at home to the mighty Raiders).

The Bengals need to play a little better to be considered a dumpster fire. Good thing the Chiefs have a good kicker, or the Bengals would be a dumpster fire that beat the Kansas City Chiefs.

The Falcons? Well, Raheem Morris snapped defeat from the jaws of victory in that one. He takes the points on that second-to-last drive - something that should have been a no-brainer - and the Chiefs likely lose (also, the back judge made his contribution to the cause by ignoring a blatant PI by Bryan Cook on Kyle Pitts).

Injuries matter. The Chiefs squeaked by the "Weekend at Bernies" type corpse of the Chargers on the road in the annual extra home game the AFC West gets when they play at the Chargers.

The Views:

The Chiefs are fortunate to not be 2-2 - maybe at best. If I had told any coach or executive of the Chiefs in July that by week four, you were going to have lost Hollywood Brown and Rashee Rice for the season, Travis Kelce was nailing the boyfriend of Taylor thing much better than he was nailing the Tight End for the Kansas City Chiefs thing, Isaiah Pacheco was out with a fractured fibula that should keep him out at least half the year, and Patrick Mahomes had thrown almost as many Ints as he had TDs, I'd be finding them a bag in which to hyperventilate. Are they done? You would be crazy to call them done. But they're on the ropes.
