Yeah, I thought BYU's issues were either player execution or a few illogical
play calls.

If Lassiter doesn't drop the ball multiple times, BYU scores more points in the 2nd half. If Ferrin puts away that last FG attempt, Baylor never threatens to win the game. If the defense didn't give up multiple 3rd and 4th down conversions in the 3rd quarter, it's never a close game.

It was obviously not ideal to call a pass play on 3rd and short when Jake had his throw tipped and intercepted. I thought calling that trick play in the 3rd quarter on 2nd and long was ill-advised, and should have been reserved for a 2nd and short situation.

Then there were other issues. Once Connor Pay went down with injury, the runs up the middle were not as productive, which isn't any one's fault per se. Refs did their best to make it a game as well. Baylor had clear holdings (literally hooking our DL) that didn't get called. Then calling the unsportsmanlike penalty on an obvious flop was just gross incompetence. Honestly, that 2nd half couldn't have gone much worse for BYU, and they still won anyway.
