If you miss the other team still has the ball with 90+ yards to go. It's very rare for teams to get 7 points on a drive
of 90+ yards.
But more importantly I think...
The right move (almost always) is to show your offense that you trust them by leaving them on the field and to show your defense that you trust them to get a stop if the offense fails to get the 1st down.
