Jesus first miracle was that he turned water into wine.

Meaning that he turned the ordinary into extraordinary.

This was to foreshadow his last miracle, the atonement.

Through the atonement Jesus can take us, super ordinary sinners and turn us into extraordinary, saved beings to live with God again.

God turns stupid people like me into decent people all the time.

Sports is cool because it's a good metaphor. If you don't prepare and listen to your coaches, you generally lose. But we love you anyway and will never abandon you.
