Correct. There's "guaranteed" money in the contract. It's my understanding
that most of the money is "non guaranteed". I'm open to being wrong but NFL owners just don't throw money "hand over fist".
For star players & high draft picks I'm certain there's "guaranteed" money (see Zach Wilson's contract) but for most players their contracts aren't as generous.
