The most important holiday in America used to be Christmas, and we didn't have
any other expensive holidays. Now we have Halloween as the most important holiday for many. Many people spend a lot to celebrate Halloween.
Also people seem to feel they need to spend a lot for vacations. When I was a kid we went to Grandma's house for vacation.
