The ownership group intentionally did everything possible to kill the fanbase.
- They had a title contender in 2019 and 2020, with a stable of young players on their rookie contracts.
- Most of those players still had multiple years on their contracts when they traded those players for 10 cents on the dollar so that they rolled out a AAA roster in 2021.
- Then, heading into the 2021 season, leaks started coming out that Fisher was meeting with Las Vegas officials.
- Then they more than doubled ticket prices for the 2021 season and got rid of their most attractive promos.

This came after the same ownership group sold off all the valuable players from contenders after the 2014 season and after the 2006 season. From 2001-2006 and then in 2013-2014, the A's averaged about 25k per game. The fanbase is there, but the ownership group intentionally killed it.
