To save them from a collective journey to expend great efforts, time and money to accomplish the improbable - only to have it ultimately (and almost surely) fail? After reading this, I think I understand why you're no sports fan - the journey is where it's at. 133 out of 134 teams' seasons will end with some measure of failure - BYU will almost surely be no different.
