Watching news yesterday and they had a employee of some fast food place not in
UT. She said she is paid something like $1.25/hour and if people don't tip, then she doesn't make even minimum wage. The newsreel showed her behind the counter, but did not indicate which restaurant chain.

Could that be true, she's receiving a server wage even though she is not in the traditional server position of waiting on tables? I have a problem believing that is even legal for a fast food business to do? I have no idea who governs those types of industries to ensure that this restaurant is not violating labor laws and attempting to create a situation where customers will be thoroughly guilted to pay a tip even though they are not being served, but only processed through a fast food counter. It sounded crooked to me.
