Golf with some donors and a parent of a current player. This is what I've
gleaned

- In the Utah County money scene (especially tech) it's easier for them achieve social status by donating to basketball over football. You get access to the courstside seats where you can parade your wife around, go back for the VIP halftime meal, etc. Similar to NBA courtside celebrities and fans as compared to the NFL, there's more visibility for basketball donors and more networking.

- You can feel like you're making more of an impact with a BB player over a FB player

- KY's NBA ties are obviously huge. But one thinks his connections all throughout Europe is even more impressive and a huge selling point not just for a wide recruiting reach but also for potential professional opportunities down the road.

- I think there's more money now just to renewed excitement and a snowball effect as compared to Pope. I do think it comes down to the NBA ties as well as a more visible role/involvement of an NBA owner.

- I'm not sure if anyone really knows how much is going to BB vs. FB, etc. Maybe it's just more visible.

- I’ve heard it’s not the initial NIL that is what worries most, it’s what happens in year 2. So an ongoing tricky scenario

- BYU is really lucky that their main money base is so young. Compare that to the centenarians at the U who just want their names on buildings before they croak
