BYU was penalized like 4 times in the latter 1/3 of the game because the crowd was too loud. It let AFA back into the game and were within one score until late BYU got a TD to ice it. It is maybe the most bizarre (in an awesome way) game I have ever attended. When the last of the penalties was called, all of a sudden you had over 60,000 people in the stands flapping their arms up and down in the "shhh" motion. It was dead silent with tens of thousands of people flapping their arms. I don't know if I have ever been more pissed off at a game as I was with those multiple penalties that almost cost BYU the game ultimately.
