I don't think you read my post. Royal blue was adopted later in the Edwards era.
I'm not saying navy is better (I prefer royal blue), I'm just stating a fact that I don't think most people realize. BYU hasn't just recently "switched" to navy as a new color as many believe. It was the original color, including for athletics.
