They currently have plans to get to 6. They just need to get 2 more teams. I'm not sure what their plan is there. Options would be:

1. Hope the ACC gets raided by the SEC/Big Ten and that Stanford/Cal come running back home. If this is their plan it's a foolish one, IMO.
2. Work on pulling the top AAC teams (Memphis and Tulane??) to join the conference.
3. Go back to the MWC and pull more teams (which would basically kill off the MWC and knock them down to CUSA level of competitiveness).

I really don't see any other options for them. They COULD try to go after Arizona/ASU/Utah/Colorado, but there is a reason those 4 teams left to begin with, and I don't see adding a bunch of MWC teams to the conference as something that would entice those programs back.
