Do you know how WAR works?
Every game there is a penalty given to the DH for just being the DH. Over the course of the season it amounts to about 1.5 negative WAR for Ohtani.
Ohtani has generated more value than Soto, Henderson, or Witt with the bat. He’s generated more value than all of them on the basepaths.
The reality is that Ohtani has been neutral on the field, because he hasn’t been able to play it.
All of the defense for Shohei aside, Judge has still had the better year.
