know some tribal members who have been in leadership positions in the tribal government. I asked one of them several years ago why more young members don’t take advantage of the education opportunity and so forth. He told me they don’t feel the need. Everything they need is provided for them by the tribe. If they need a house, boom. The tribe builds them one. He went on for several minutes about all of the things that are provided. It is not the school’s fault that more tribal members aren’t attending the university.
