That type of system is predicated on having two alphas as your center backs who can clean up a lot of messes - just like Stratton and Vaka did a lot for us last season. Despite us having a phenomenal team, there were still so many plays that Stratton and Vaka made for us back there last season. Of course that is what center backs are supposed to do in general. But if Rockwood is going to keep the free flowing style then can't make this lineup error. alternatively, she could adjust style for this season and just keep more numbers back.
Rustand doesn't have the quickness or speed to ever fulfill that type of big role for a high press, throw-numbers-forward team.
