They had some big defensive whiffs. KSU #87 had three big catches against Arizona. He lined up at FB on his TD catch and was completely unaccounted for...wide open. His other catches were big momentum plays where the coverage defender missed their assignment. Arizona's D looked disorganized at times.
KSU will still score because they have great running backs, a mobile quarterback, and a good team. RB Dylan Edwards had a punt return TD. But, I have way more faith in our defense and their ability to contain and play assignment-sound football.
Arizona's offense moved the ball but had a bunch of penalties. Arizona's drive before halftime saw three straight holding penalties that resulted in 1st & 30. They also had poor execution on a couple of 4th-and-short plays.
KSU has a DB that is really good. He had an interception on a long pass to the end zone where he left his man who was running a route towards the sideline and made an amazing hustle play to pick off the deep ball thrown in the middle of the field. It was an incredible and athletic INT play.
