What happens to the team comprised of 17 to 23 year olds has nothing to do with my life. I enjoy seeing a bunch of kids willing to accept the requirements of enrollment at BYU go beyond effort in the classroom alone to put the school's name on their chests and see how they measure up against other groups of kids.
I'm going to cheer those kids. When they win, I'll give them credit. When the lose, I'll give them grace.
Because they're kids. And I hope they're thinking big and working towards it. I don't need to be aligned with your particular brand of "real" other than choosing to be a real fan of these kids — day or night, rain or snow.
If you don't have the emotional maturity to handle a bunch of 17 to 23 year old kids coming a few plays short, then maybe coloring books in padded room is more your style.
As for me, I will unabashedly hope and cheer for the best to happen to kids who put my school's name on their chests.
Go Cougs!
