Because winning more games is better than winning fewer games.
That's it. Really. Winning 6 games is more fun for me than winning 5 games. And I actually LIKE football - which means getting an additional game at the end of the season is kind of cool because it's a bonus game!
When is the last time you saw a package that said "10% more product!" and said to yourself - "You can't fool me, packaging designer. There's NO WAY I'm going to purchase a product that has more of the product I'm purchasing in it. I want a limited amount of that product - take that 10% away!"
