True private charters are crazy expensive. I've used H&M probably 15 times
and I've never had issues. I've done a SD trip with the young men every year I've been in YM, which is pretty much 18 of the last 22 years.
It's a drive but I like the charters and fishing better up near Dana Point. However, if it's about making memories and having fun for your son the San Diego fishing is perfect.
