Engemann was so bi-polar in his play that it’s tough to say. He could appear excellent or downright ineffective. More than once in the same game.
Healthy Riley gets the nod, although he’s the most similar to Retzlaff of all of them. Brokeback injured Riley was the worst QB I’ve ever seen or ever will see. Incredible, and costly, that Bronco left him out there.
Critchlow’s legacy is an utterly feckless performance in a home loss to mighty UMass. I’ll take Retzlaff over that.
But I’d throw in Charlie Petersen, particularly as a senior, as someone I’d take as the starter on this year’s team, hands down.
