This would be a great fit for both sides, tbh
Tua needs to retire. His long term health is way more important than anything on the field. He’s made his money, he needs to make sure his family has a husband/father.

The Dolphins need him to retire. They all love Tua, and it sucks to see Tua seize up like he is. Putting the human aspect aside, a team that’s trying to contend can’t have a long term QB that gets hurt as much as he does.

If Tua is out for a long time, which he probably should be, the Dolphins’ season is done. You just can’t weather that in the NFL.

Assuming they’re looking to move on for Tua, Zach is the guy they should grab. He ran a similar offense in New York with LaFler (both he and McDaniels came from Shanahan in SF), they have the weapons, and they’re trying to contend. If Zach is good, great. You’ve got your guy. If he’s bad, who cares? Your season is over already, and you’ll want a high draft pick to replace Tua with. It’s a win win.

For Zach, you’ve got an offensive minded coach. You’re familiar with the offense. You have weapons. You’re in a division you’re familiar with (double edged sword). You have a chance to beat the Jets twice a year. The only down side is if he can’t succeed in Miami, he won’t succeed anywhere. He will have had three chances on three teams at that point. Ready or not.
