Went in June. Great golf trip!
Did the Straights/Sand Valley circuit in June. Solid golf destination/resort golf! Another Mike Keizer gem. And the restaurants around property were good. Sedge Valley wasn’t opening for another couple weeks sadly. Lobbied hard to get a preview of it, but no dice. We did play the Lido which is a hard tee time to get, but so good. Definitely ask about it when you check in. Maybe they have a cancelation. As close to a St Andrews Old Course experience on this side of the Atl. Highly recommend!

If you play tennis, take your rackets and a can of balls. Sand
Valley has some fun grass tennis courts. There aren’t too many places you can experience playing on grass. Enjoy the $1 tacos at the halfway house and don’t skip the $3 ice cream cookie sandwich (you’re gonna burn a lot of calories walking those hills, so there is no guilt).

Straights is terrific and on the top 10 favorites list for me, but brace yourself for the cost. Green fee, caddie, and a shirt for the clubhouse will be about as expensive a day as there is in golf.

My personal rankings of the sand valley courses:

1. The Lido
2. Mammoth Dunes
3. Sand Valley

Sandbox was kind of unremarkable to me. Nothing compared to the par 3 at Bandon Dunes.

Enjoy!
