I've heard him make derogatory comments to mock BYU and its ties to his faith.
I don't think that he's always been this way, but I think that things turned after he learned from the worst under UM. And there's absolutely no need for him to continue with that approach. It doesn't "promote" his rival by being respectful of his alma mater and his faith.

I'm not "worried" about it, per se, but I find it petty, in poor taste, and objectionable.

Contrast KW's approach towards the rivalry to Kalani's, which can be equally annoying, honestly. But much like the ALUFs in your fanbase, KW and the other LDS coaches on your staff could do a lot to help tone down the toxcity of the rivalry by simply setting a better example, and heaven forbid, speaking out a bit at times against the behavior of your worst fans, which is not so much a vocal minority as you all claim.

But whatever... you can't really blame us for having our opinions. Even when KW's players openly mocked the faith with the hot tub baptisms, "laying on of hands" photo op, etc., there were only comments from KW playing it off and excusing their behavior.

And as for KW directing kids to BYU, please enlighten us with your examples! Knowing what I know and have actually observed from KW, he would only do that if he didn't think that the kid could help him, or otherwise wasn't talented enough for his program. Not for the good of the kid. But I'd love for you to prove that wrong based upon an example or two.

I think that I may already know of one kid that you'd claim, but from what I know of that situation, that was much more the family's decision than KW's encouragement for the kid to instead go to BYU. You could even argue that if KW did encourage the kid to go to BYU, which you can't prove, then KW didn't think that the kid, while very talented, would ever get back to the level physically to effectively contribute to his program.

I know that ute fans love to use that situation as an example and an "excuse" for losing the recruit to BYU, but sorry, I think that situation would be a huge stretch based upon a lot of assumptions. And if the kid takes off at BYU, how soon before they try to poach him back? I guess we'll see, huh?
