4/5 interceptions were within 10 yards. Why can’t he correct simple mistakes as Matich points out?
He is still adjusting to the speed of D1 football. After this many games.
He often missed open receivers and his passes are frequently thrown low/high or too long/short.
I question whether the QB playing is truly the best player when he struggles in games. It’s giving Jake Heaps vibes. The coaches also struggled to decide until the end of camp. Why shouldn’t we question their judgment?
You say we should give him more than 1 game. We both agree there. How does 5 games sound to you? With 9 turnovers…
You make a good point though, he does touch the ball more than anyone else and he is the leader. That same leader holds more responsibility than the offense struggled and gets 6 three and outs. The 2/13 on third down conversions was ugly as well. But we don’t need to belabor the obvious. You recognize it was ugly for the offense.
Give GB and Hillstead a chance. If the competition was that close with GB then give him an opportunity to show us how he performs when it matters.
We all can lookup USU highlights with Hillstead. Some think he will be QB1 next year. If so, develop him early on, the overall record won’t matter anyways.
