Corn Pop Intervention Needed
SMU proved the adage that when you have two QBs, you have none. However,
when you don't have a clear cut starter, as SMU does not have, it doesn't hurt to see if the other one might give you a better chance during a game.

SMU's starter was going nowhere. They might have scored 0 points had they flat stuck with him. Instead, they went with the guy who could at least remain upright and it gave them a chance to win.


We know from fall camp that we basically have two QBs, which means we have none. There's no sense in sticking solely with one or the other. Whichever one is playing the best on a given night, go with that one.


I don't know if Gerry could have done better, but he couldn't have done much worse. With the way we were using Jake in the 2nd half as more running than passing threat, Gerry's the better, bigger athlete and runner. Makes no sense to not play him when we end up defaulting to such a game plan during a game.
