black dark, raining and jungle sounds as crazy as you can imagine. We have little flash lights to light our way. The first thing the guide says to us is “please stay in the middle of the path and don’t get too close to the edge”. The path was about as wide as a sidewalk. Of course my response “why is that?”. Guide says “because of the snakes”.

I literally almost puked and pooped my shorts at the same time. And this frog watching tour was like 2 hours long. I couldn’t wait for that 2 hours to be over and couldn’t have cared less if I saw a dang frog or not. We did see one viper about six feet long. Seems like it was called fer de lance or something. He said if it bites you then you die. He got within about two feet of it and used a stick to get it back into the jungle.

This being said. Costa Rica was amazing. Best vacation we have ever done. Very kind and hospitable people. Beautiful country with amazing wildlife. Can’t wait to go back someday.
