Throwing an INT to a D-lineman on your own 20 is much worse than throwing a pick 45 yards down the field on 3 and 17. Retzlaff not only has a high instance of INTs, his INTs are wounded duck, flubbing passes right to a defender. And they seem to always come at very bad locations on the field.

1) Coaches (even great ones) get the best starting qb wrong all the time. 2) Real games are very different than practice
