If the QB race was really neck and neck all camp and your current QB has a
decent sample size of game action to evaluate him on (and it’s been mostly quite bad), it is very reasonable to give him a short leash and try the other QB when the starter is struggling.
Would guess 80% of head coaches would have made a QB change tonight given the situation BYU is in.
