consistent video game playing is the enterprise of boys. Same with collecting dolls, figurines, etc. I've observed this opinion among both adult women and men.
I don't think that applies to the occasional playing of Mario Cart or any other game with your kids, or even with adult brothers or old friends.
And there are definitely many who don't share the opinion. But I think it's pretty widely understood that a large segment of adults look with a certain degree of scorn at heavy involvement in video games, child's collectibles, D&D, etc.
