Alan Schaefer Redshirt Freshman
I worked with a guy who played on that SDSU team. He was retiring as I was
just getting into the field. He played LB.

I liked him a lot. Funny, chill, and still strong as an ox. Typical 1980’s college football player meathead and bravado.

I would always give him a hard time about BYU being so good back then. He would always say how much they liked playing them, because they were the biggest challenge all season. And he claimed they won one year while he was there. But I never verified it.

Anyways, miss that guy. Loved working with him. Hope he’s still alive and doing good. He got the amazing retirement package they had back then. Lucky fetcher.

*He said McMahon was the most arrogant, but funniest, bad yewt guy he’s ever met. Said they talked all game. Which I believed because this guy could verbal box with anyone anytime. He was so good at it.
