I agree, I don't know exactly what the culture under Kalani is
The things you described as hallmarks under Bronco basically boil down to control the controllables. I'm not going to pretend that as fans we weren't frustrated that Bronco seemed to win the games he was supposed to win and lose the games he was supposed to lose for the most part. It was almost like he was fine with things being that way. The one thing I never complained about were the consistency in the things you described. For most losses under Bronco I could walk away from the game at least proud that BYU played hard and competed. I don't remember too many blowouts under Bronco.

Kalani's teams seem to be the opposite of that. Kalani has pulled off some surprising upsets and ended the long losing streak to Utah. We've also had downright soul-crushingly embarrassing losses under him. The inconsistency is all over the place and I never know what I'm going to get game to game. Kalani's teams don't seem to control the controllables. I can point out examples from just last year where an easily fixable mistake doesn't get addressed properly and continues to be a problem. Now I know that Kalani isn't at fault for each mistake but as the head of the program, he is responsible and the buck stops with him. It doesn't appear based on the evidence we have that discipline is something that is stressed by Kalani as much when it absolutely should be a BYU hallmark.
