deserves credit for finally pulling off the ensemble approach to superhero movies. They broke the mold with that movie ... and made a pretty stellar standalone movie at the same time. I hadn't watched any of the previous movies and was able to jump in with Avengers pretty seamlessly. It changed the way stories are told across multiple movies. Feels like that merits bonus points.
