I'd give a slight edge to kettle style chips over ruffles.
They aren't good for dipping, but I prefer flavored chips anyway so no need for a dip.
The only reason to have regular (non-flavored) Ruffles (or any other brand for that matter) is if you have a good dip. Otherwise, I prefer flavored. I agree that sour cream and cheddar is the best flavor, with sour cream and onion a close second. (Some of the seasonal flavors are very good, but I always come back to the OG flavors.)
Favorite corn chip is the Chili Verde Doritos - but they are hard to find in single serving packs.
