What I've been taught to do is limit unplanned stoppages and try to get most of
your instructional or corrective coaching done in small, short snippets during pre-planned stoppages for water breaks, etc.
I have found some wisdom in that. The kids do seem more attentive and active when they're spending more time moving and playing and less time standing there listening to me or another coach drone on about something one player just did.
