then it will be well worth it to invest some money in some decent camping gear, especially focused around sleep. A cot, good pad, and nicer bag/quilt will make a huge difference in your enjoyment.
I just replaced a bunch of my camping gear because much of it was a couple decades old. My favorite thing is my new sleeping pad, it literally feels like sleeping on a nice memory foam mattress, but it wasn't cheap. It's on sale here right now, well worth it imo. I also got a new sleep system by zenbivy, and I really like it. Once again, not cheap, but I think it will be well worth it. I much prefer it to a traditional sleeping bag because I can side sleep and kick my leg out, have my arms up by my head, etc.
Also, I love setting up hammocks for relaxing. I don't really like sleeping in them for the night, but just relaxing while reading a book or taking a quick nap or something is awesome. The cheap ones at costco are just fine and come with straps.
Food is a big one too. Make it good and fun.
